AccessVR Expands Its Workforce

Company Envisions Creating 1,000 Immersive Jobs by 2024

AccessVR, an immersive learning and extended reality (XR) production company headquartered in Winchester, Virginia, has expanded its growing team of professionals (including full-time, W2, 1099 employees, role players, and lab production assistants) to 64 employees with a drive to grow to 1,000 immersive jobs by 2024.

In June, the company hired two full-time production assistants, Kaela Dunlap and Daniel Trout, both graduates of Shenandoah University, to build immersive experiences in 360 video and virtual reality. They were later joined by interns Wesley LaBombard and  John Ulbrich, also graduates of Shenandoah University, and Alessandro Gaiarin, a current student at George Mason University. All five individuals work at the AccessVR Lab at GCubed, in Stafford, Virginia.

In May, Anthony Perrella, Jr., joined the company as AccessVR’s 360 Production Supervisor. A seasoned production and post-production professional with extensive storytelling and VR communications expertise, he leads the development of 360-degree learning videos for AccessVR and its clients.

Since February, the company has hired 54 role players to serve as standardized patients (SPs) for the George Washington University School of Nursing among others.

Our team exists to help others to adapt and adopt immersive technology,” said Chief Immersive Officer, Executive Vice President, and Founder J.J. Ruscella. “Together, we are developing a mixed-reality, model ecosystem for how humans can work, learn, entertain, and socialize in a virtual environment.”

AccessVR helps organizations adopt immersive technology to train and transform their workforce. It provides XR production and immersive experience design for education and training, virtual learning, and role play. The company’s immersive experience taxonomy is the only IEEE Xplore published tool for designing and evaluating immersive experiences.
